Rudimenti is a research project dedicated to the surfaces of percussion instruments and to the production of sound intended as a form of movement; through a personal research at the act of striking and the modes of listening, Enrico Malatesta investigates the sound-space-body relationships, the vitality of matters and the polyrhythm, understood as an ecological configuration of localized and multiple sound events. With the aim of presenting the skin instruments as territories of action exposed to a continuous interchange of information with the movement of the performer and the intensity of the space, Rudimenti finds forms of restitution through performances (for soloist and ensemble), workshops, conferences, texts, recordings.
